Ep 27 A Journey of Self Love with Nicole
Illy from the Office of Sex Magic interviews an amazing human being, Nicole, a transgender, disabled woman takes us from winning medals in National Track Para Olympics to the Tech world and finding common ground with all people. From rebirth to vulnerability, to learning how to enter into a relationship with yourself before you can learn to love other people, this episode is heartfelt and elevating at the same time. Nicole will inspire you with her poignant ability to describe the dynamics of human relationships and the journey we all explore together and individually.
Nicole is not just an inspiration but also a model, public speaker and advocate for the LGBTQ and disabled communities. At one point in the podcast she says, if this is a dream I don’t want to wake up. It wasn’t always like that however. She shares stories of her early life including being in a body cast as a child. The influence of religion on sexuality is something all of us can relate to in one way or another. The darkness of shame and how parasitic it can be is another area many of us must learn to uproot in order to be in alignment with our true selves.
Love yourself and surround yourself with people who care about you. They need you just as much as you need them. Nicole also shares her favorite GoT quote. “Never forget who you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor and it can never be used to hurt you.” - Tyrion Lannister.
